 Service charge amount

The interim committee has decided that :

  • service charge remains at 5000 KES per month per unit, which in our opinion is about what we need to run the court.
  • the service charge are due from January 1st on, except for those who have acquired their unit after this date.
The official hand-over has not yet happened, however the Mararo interim management committee assumes that we will be retroactively responsible for the court from 1st of January onward. Indeed, the certificate of occupation from Nairobi city council dates from September and owners have paid 3 months of service charge to the developer (October - December). Mararo Court Management Company Ltd is responsible from January 2015 onward.

 Water

Water consumed by each unit is not included in the services charge. It will be charged at real cost, based on your household consumption that is read from your meter.
Water from the common areas is charged to service charge.

  1. This is a good initiative by the Interim Committee.

Kindly impress on SEDCO to be acknowledging receipt of the Banking Slip documents we send them.

Without acknowledgement of the receipt, we don't know whether the documents are received or not. For those not based in Nairobi, it causes anxiety which is not necessary. They should be professional in discharging their duties.

As for the dismissal of the Caretaker by SEDCO, it is difficult to comment since the actual conflict is not specified. There are always teething problems at the beginning, let us tread carefully, be patient and also give a second chance. We all need a second chance (give a warning letter) to improve ourselves.
